Meljens DT Day

HI Everyone! It is my DT Day over at Meljens today!

It has been a busy week...my daughter had surgery on Monday and it is amazing how everything stops when your child need you! She is on the mend so I got a bit of time to create a birthday card using one of the pre coloured images. These images are wonderful when you want to make something but you may not have a lot of time on your hands!

The image I chose is called: Birthday Cupcake.

I printed the image on paper, mounted it on some patterned paper and then added a glitter ribbon. Then I added a whole bunch of glitter to the frosting to make it all sparkly!

Meljens has a great selection of Coloured For You to chose from so, the next time you are in a hurry but still want to create, go and pick one out!

New Challenge at Meljens Today!

Good Morning everyone! We have a great new Challenge going on over at Meljens Designs today!

the Challenge of this week is: Seeing Spots!

 

For this I used this funny little design called Fuzzer the Monster! I love this because we used to have a Black Lab named Daisy who was fuzzy if she went swimming and we used to call her Fuzz! So this image reminded me of her!

I coloured the image with Copic markers and mounted it on patterned papers and kraft cardstock.

Fun Friday at YNS Today!

  Good Morning! Lets start off today with another exciting Challenge at YNS!

 It is Challenge #8 and is a Sketch and/or Colour Challenge!
Look at the beautiful colours! These should give you a ton of inspiration!

 Here is the card I made for this Challenge.

 For this one I stuck to the colour theme using blue, and yellow.

  

In my card I used the stamp set called: Note Worthy

 Its an older set but very cute...and it is on SALE! SO check it out!

Milestone Birthday Cards!

I was recently asked to make Birthday cards for a 90th and 100th Birthday! 

If you have been lucky enough to know someone who hit one of those milestone birthdays, you will find that there is not a lot of selection for cards in the store. SO what happens is that the birthday person ends up receiving the same cards!

So, this is what I came up with!

All of the papers and cardstock are from Close to My Heart. The numbers were cut on my Cricut using the CTMH Cartridge called: Art Philosophy. The Stamps sets I used are from CTMH and Your Next Stamp. (CTMH- Doodled Designs A1170, Your Next Stamp- Jessica with Cupcakes and WhatNot Sentiments)

It is always special to receive a handmade card and they are so much fun to make. Go and make someone special a card of their very own!

We are Loving You over at Meljens Today!

Today we are Loving You over at Meljens Designs with our newest Challenge!

I fell in LOVE with a new design from Meljens called: Fluffy Baby Penguin

and had to use him on this card!

I coloured the image with Copic markers, used papers from CLose to My Heart and embossed the background cardstock with an embossing folder from CTMH.

DT Dare today!

 Today marks the February DT Dare day!
 It’s a fun monthly challenge for the YNS design team to showcase more fabulous projects using the new release products! 

Well, it has been an amazing time over at Your Next Stamp with all

 the new releases for February! Did you check them out?

 Don't you just love the new stamp sets and dies! Especially the Stitched Circle Die!

Today I have been challenged to use "1, 2, 3 "and that is 3 Gumdrops, 2 Dies and 1 Stamp!

So, I chose the new Little Darling Jasmine stamp set to make my card with!

I just LOVED the Girl (Jasmine) and the Tiger in this set as well as all the sayings. 

It is perfect for a Birthday card for all ages!

Design Team Series with ME!

Good Morning Everyone!

I am Sue Taylor-Hill and today is my day to share a bit of information about myself for our YNS DT Series.

As part of the Series, we are asked a few questions and here are mine!

Q1. Tell us more about you, your family and where you live:

I have been married for almost 16 years and I met my husband on a blind date where we went to a Military Ball! Obviously it was love because now we have 2 wonderful Girls and one furry Girl (A yellow Lab who is a rascal!) and we reside in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. We are diehard cottagers, love to travel and my hubby wholeheartedly supports my crazy crafting obsession! (I think I will keep him!)

Q2: When did you join the Team at Your Next Stamp? 

This is actually my second month as an official DT member of YNS and I am loving every moment! (I was a Guest in September and November of 2014)

Q3: What are your favorite Your Next Stamp images?

My favourite YNS image has to be Ainsley from Scotland. She is retired, but I bought this stamp years ago because we are of Scottish heritage, both my Girls Highland dance and my husband is a bagpiper! My current favourites are the animals! Especially the Reindeer and the Funny Farm Crew.

 Q4: What are your favorite color combos? 

My favourite colour combo right now has to be teal, grey and white with maybe a bit of brown thrown in for the heck of it!

Here are my projects for the Hop!
 For my first card I used the stamp sets called: Jessica's Cupcakes 

 

I stamped and coloured the Jessica and used one of the words from the same set. Then I topped it all off with some of our gumdrops! They come in ALL colours!

On my second card I also used the stamp set called: What Not Words . Here I stamped Heart splatter and one of the words onto a circle I cut out using one of the circle dies. On top of the circle die I used our brand New Stitched Circle die. Then I embellished with some Gumdrops.

Here are the stamp sets and dies I used- Aren't they awesome!!!!

Sneak Peek at YNS Today!

We have been freezing lately with all the snow and cold I think it is a GREAT time to have a sneak peek at the February Release at Your Next Stamp!

This awesome stamp set is from a set called Jessicas Cupcakes! 

Now, I cant show you the whole thing today.......Well, OK I will!

Sketch and Colour Challenge at YNS today!

Good Morning! Today starts another exciting Challenge at YNS!

 It is Challenge #7 and is a Sketch/Colour Challenge!

And here is the card I made for this Challenge.

 

 I like to try and incorporate both the colour and the sketches but you can do either! Its fun to challenge yourself to do both and get your creative juices flowing!

   

For this Challenge I used a lot of things! My favourite stamp set I used on here is called The Funny Farm Crew and well as the Funny Farm Sentiments

 

I also used the Fence Die and the Spring Grass
